Official Birthday Celebrations - 100 TODAY!
Happy Birthday Griffith! Enjoy a nostalgic morning in the theatre in the presence of His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley, Governor of New South Wales, and Mrs Hurley. The 100 year celebrations will acknowledge our pioneers and reminisce about days gone by. You will enjoy a historical screening, music and entertainment, we will conclude with a light lunch in the foyer, catering by Griffith CWA and Bertoldo's birthday cake.
$10 Tickets, (People 90 years or older are free, but require a ticket for catering and seating purposes).

City Highlights Tour
Jump onboard the bus and see first-hand the growth of the City and learn more about the recent multi-million dollar investments and planning developments with Manager Tourism and Economic Development Greg Lawrence. Local historian, John Robinson will also be onboard to provide historical facts and stories. The tour includes a tasting stop at Riverina Grove.
Departs from the Theatre at 2pm. Cost $15pp. Book your seat at the Griffith Visitor Information Centre 1800 681 141. Returns to Theatre at 4.30pm.
Tree Planting Ceremony with the Governor of New South Wales
The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd), Governor of NSW will officially open Griffith Centenary Walk with a ceremonial tree planting at IOOF Park, Kookora Street, from 2.30pm-3pm.
Heritage Train Rides - the Tin Hare returns to Griffith 4-7 August
Sit back, relax and take in the scenery in style aboard the Tin Hare - an authentic Motor Rail Heritage train from Lachlan Valley Rail. Operating various short shuttles to Yenda and Tharbogang, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, tickets start from $15. For a longer ride, why not book a seat on the dinner train to Leeton, with a fabulous boxed-dinner from O'Donnell's, train departs Griffith station at 6.30pm and returns at 8.40pm. Or take the lunch train to Ardlethan on Sunday for a lovely day out in the country, with lunch at the new Ardlethan Bowling Club. There is also a return day trip from Narrandera, stopping at Leeton to Griffith on Saturday to encourage our neighbouring towns to share our Saturday festivities. Various tickets prices. Grounded in Griffith Celebration - join the Gallery team on Thursday evening from 6pm, with a special viewing of the Grounded in Griffith exhibition. This is a lovely collection of pioneering stories and memories as captured by local primary school students and illustrated through mixed media. Canapes and refreshments will be served. Griffith Regional Art Gallery, 167 Banna Avenue.
The Griffith Collection - Griffith Central and Griffith Genealogical & Historical Society will display historical photographs from The Griffith Collection in the Griffith Central Shopping Centre on the first 3 weekends of August; 3rd to 7th, 10th to 14th and 17th to 21st August, Wednesday to Sunday mornings from 10 am, and on Saturday afternoons.
